Daily Market Update: Dow, S&P 500 Hit Record Highs as Tech Stocks Rally; Oil Falls

Both the Dow and the S&P 500 hit record highs again in trading yesterday as investors piled into tech stocks on the first day of a heavy earnings reporting week.

US Treasury markets were closed for the bank holiday which led to more subdued trading conditions in the final session of the day, however the dollar did push higher on the day to register a 10-week peak.

Oil prices fell around 2% as OPEC cut its oil growth view for next year and Gold experienced another whippy session.

The macroeconomic calendar kicks into action for the week today with key data due out of both the UK and Canada.
